This winter Cancer Services will be piloting a new support program for our clients.  For a number of years we   have had a peer support program, where newly diagnosed clients are paired with cancer survivor volunteers.  We will be combining these volunteer roles with a new role, all under the name of the 'Cancer Services Care Team'.  With the exception of peer support, the Care Team is an in-office program that will allow volunteers to directly interact with clients. Initially, the team will be assisting with follow-up calls.  Over time we anticipate Care Team volunteers will also assist with wigs, medical supplies, nutritional supplements and equipment. The first Care Team training was done in November.
